The lake is peaceful, the ocean is vast, but the river flows. It is this river-like flow of energy that stimulates an unobstructed path for the coursing of life force throughout our bodies.
My intention as a yoga teacher and Thai Yoga Therapist is to act as a catalyst for this flow of energy. I rely on my own practice of yoga and meditation to guide me as a teacher, so that what I say and what I do is as honest an expression as I am capable of. I rely on my intuition as a Thai Yoga Therapist to connect energetically with my client, syncing my breath with theirs and setting a rhythmic pace so that each session feels like a dance.
When we are able to get out of our heads and allow the mind to settle, the body relaxes and we can detect a subtle sensation of movement under the skin. This is the flowing of energy, and whether engaged in the physical practice of yoga, or passively aware in a Thai Yoga Therapy session, the benefit is ultimately the same; The systems of the body flow efficiently like the coursing of a river, the mind becomes calm as a mountain lake, and for a bit of time, we move out of the smallness of our daily lives and experience the vast ocean of wisdom that resides within.
